“The Walking Dead” pulls in 5.3 Million viewers for premiere

“The Walking Dead” was a week one hit. AMC’s new horror drama series debut pulled in 5.3 Million viewers on Sunday night. If you combine the 10pm original airing and the replay that immediately followed at 11:30pm it jumps to an amazing 8.1 Million viewers. These are the highest ratings that AMC has ever had for an original series, beating “Mad Men” and “Breaking Bad”. Hopefully the ratings stay high and we will have many more seasons of awesome zombie killing.

Get out of there Rick!

Charlie Sheen at it again

The NY Post is reporting that police had to be called to Charlie Sheen’s hotel sweet at The Plaza early this morning, They reportedly found Sheen drunk, naked, and the room completely trashed. Big surprise? No, not at all. This guy is a lost cause. Will anything actually happen to him this time? No, he’ll just pay for the damages and be on his way.

Calm down Charlie.

His publicists are now saying that he had an “allergic reaction” to medication and was taken to a hospital. That is hilarious. Oh, and his ex, Denise Richards, was also staying at the hotel last night. Do you think there could have been a little disagreement?

Favre admits to voicemails

Fox’s Jay Glazer is reporting that Brett Favre has admitted to leaving the, now famous, inappropriate voicemails on Jenn Sterger’s cell phone. According to Glazer, Favre made the admission during a meeting with NFL security. In that same meeting, Favre reportedly denied that he sent her pictures of his penis. I wonder if Deanna believes him, because I sure don’t. Deadspin has the story HERE.

In related Favre news. SNL had a great sketch this week where they parodied his Wrangler Jean commercial. SNL has been surprisingly good lately.

It’s that scary time of the year!

With Halloween fast approaching, there are lots of great TV shows and Movies that are ready to scare you!

Possibly the most anticipated of those is AMC’s new horror/drama The Walking Dead. Based on the amazing comic book by Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead is set to push the limits of gore on TV.

As a huge fan of the comic book, I have been counting down the days to the premiere (October 31st at 10pm, AMC). From all the reviews and interviews I have seen so far, this show will be enjoyable for those who read the comic book and those who have never heard of it before. Definitely check it out.

There is also a cool article on msnbc.com that has a list of other scary movies and TV shows out now, including the new movie “Monsters”, which is an amazingly creative spin on the classic monster movie. Check out the link HERE.
