Being stranded at a Vermont ski resort in the middle of summer probably sucks

Killington Ski Resort has it’s fair share of summer activities, including mountain biking and golf, but white water rafting was never one of them. Until Sunday.

The Vermont ski resort was thrashed by Tropical Storm Irene and it’s heavy rains and winds that inundated the streams that run through the property. The base lodge suffered a partial collapse when it was dislodged from it’s foundation as Roaring Brook (Seriously its name) overflowed from the excessive rains. Roads were also washed out, stranding 300 guest in various hotels and condominiums throughout the resort.

Officials at Killington have been assessing all of the damage and are gradually getting guests evacuated. Luckily initial reports have said that all of the lifts sustained minimal damage and that the golf course could reopen by this coming weekend.

I’m sure the guests are having one hell of a time hanging out inside and playing board games. Hopefully all the beer was saved from the collapse, because that would make things easier (UPDATE: ZACHISGOD iReporter Eric Benson found this quote from one of the guests, “We have plenty of beer, but we’re running out of bread and water on the mountain”.).

Wonder if the lodge will be ready for ski season?

Peaches gets fertilizer thrown on her in music video for “Mud”

ZACHISGOD’s favorite bi-sexual songstress Peaches has just released a new music video for her song “Mud”, from her 2009 album “I Feel Cream”. It kicks ass.

In the clip, Peaches and others get fertilizer and other yummy stuff dumped on them in a sweet reverse slow-mo shot.

This is the last video from her awesome 2009 album. She promised to make a video for every song, and she has finally done it.

Cheers Peaches, this video is awesome.

Cover band in England arrested on racism charges for playing “Kung Fu Fighting”

A British cover band was arrested this past weekend for performing the 1970′s hit “Kung Fu Fighting” by Carl Douglas at a bar on the Isle of Wight. The group was arrested for reportedly subjecting an Asian man and his mother to “racial abuse” while singing the song.

The Asian man walked by the band during the song and began to yell expletives towards the group.

The members were arrested and then released pending further investigation. The local police explained to the members that they had no choice but to arrest them, due to the complaint by the offended party.

Ashlee Simpson is divorcing “Fall Out Boy” Pete Wentz

Hey look kids, another celebrity divorce! According to TMZ, Ashlee Simpson has filed for divorce from “Fall Out Boy” bassist Pete Wentz. She used the typical “irreconcilable differences” as her reason. I figured this one wouldn’t last too long, but it still sucks when there are kids involved and Bronx Mowgli is only two years old.

I guess that whole religious up-bringing Mr. Simpson did is really paying off for his daughters. Which celebrity will Ashlee date next?

Video: Soulja Boy and Bow Wow dangerously race Lambo’s on residential Miami streets

Junk rappers Soulja Boy and Bow Wow recently posted a video of them racing “their” Lamborghini’s down residential streets in Miami during a break from the set of their new video for “Get Money”. This is extremely stupid and dangerous. What if LeBron James had been pulling out of his driveway at the same time? That would have been a disaster! Oh, and I put “their” in quotations because most rappers never actually own any of “their” cars, the record companies put up the money for them so that they look like they are living the rap lifestyle. Morons.

Good music is just like crack, according to McGill University scientists

Scientists at McGill University in Montreal have just concluded a study which shows that good music can produce similar levels of Dopamine in our brain as drugs. The findings, which were published in Nature Neuroscience, found that some people can experience as much as a 21% increase in Dopamine in their brains while listening to music. Cocaine, for instance, produces a 22% increase of dopamine in your brain. I think that is pretty damn cool. Music is a lot cheaper than the white powder. So put on your favorite tunes and go get high!!

Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett kicks a little kid in the face

Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett can be seen below accidentally kicking a balloon directly into a child’s face and knocking him over during their recent show in Sydney, Australia. Why the child was on the stage in the first place is anyone’s guess, but hopefully the kid is OK. Click on the picture to see the video.

Mariah Carey Pregnant

Well Mariah Carey announced today that she is indeed pregnant with Nick Cannon’s baby. I can’t wait to see all the pregnant shots the paparazzi get, they are going to love it. Big pay day for those guys. I’m guessing she gets $5 Million for the first baby pictures and interview.

Oh, and the marriage will be done in a year.
